15 questions

What is eMax ReFirme and how does it work?

ReFirme is a non-ablative skin-tightening treatment performed with the Syneron eMax platform. It combines broadband infrared light with bipolar radiofrequency to warm targeted tissue while contact cooling helps protect the skin surface.

What can ReFirme help improve?

ReFirme may improve the appearance of mild-to-moderate skin laxity and fine lines in suitable treatment areas. Results are generally gradual and modest. It is not a replacement for a surgical lift,$ and your practitioner will confirm whether it is appropriate for your concern.

What does treatment feel like, and how long does it take?

Most patients describe warmth as the applicator moves across the skin. Sensation and appointment length vary by person and treatment area. Tell your practitioner immediately about sharp, focal, escalating or persistent pain so treatment can be stopped and the skin reassessed.

What will my skin look and feel like afterward?

Temporary redness, warmth, tenderness or mild swelling can occur. These effects usually settle with time, although response varies by treatment area and individual. Contact Valley Medical if symptoms are unexpected, worsening or last longer than advised.

When will I see results, and how many treatments will I need?

Some change may be noticed early, while collagen-related improvement develops gradually over weeks to months. A series spaced several weeks apart may be recommended under the clinic's approved protocol. Thee number of sessions and degree of improvement cannot be guaranteed.

Is ReFirme suitable for all skin tones?

Suitability and treatment planning are individualized for every patient. Your practitioner will assess skin type, current skin condition, recent tanning, pigmentation history and other factors before selecting an approved protocol.

How is ReFirme different from resurfacing or surgery?

ReFirme is non-ablative, meaning it does not intentionally remove the skin surface. It is intended for gradual, generally modest improvement and does not provide the degree of lift, ing expected from surgery. Your practitioner can discuss alternatives based on your goals.

When should treatment be postponed or avoided?

Treatment may need to be delayed for pregnancy, infection, open or inflamed skin, sunburn, impaired sensation, a medication or health- history change, or a recent procedure in the area. Metal implants and other contraindications require individual review before treatment.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Avoid meaningful sun exposure and tanning, and follow any product instructions provided by Valley Medical. Report medication or health changes and recent injections, surgery, peels, laser, radiofrequency or other procedures. Arrive with the treatment area clean when possible.

When can I use makeup and skincare again?

Use gentle cleansing and skincare as directed. Avoid rubbing, aggressive exfoliation and active, fragranced or irritating products while the skin is irritated. Resume makeup and regular products according to your written aft, ercare instructions.

What should I avoid after treatment?

Minimize avoidable heat and sun exposure as directed, and use broad-spectrum sun protection when appropriate. Do not schedule another session until the prior response has been reviewed and the approved treatment interval has elapsed.

Which areas can be treated?

Only areas permitted by the approved device protocol and Valley Medical policy are treated. Suitability depends on the anatomy, skin condition and your individual assessment. Your practitioner will confirm the planned area before treatment.

Can ReFirme be combined with injectables or other procedures?

Possibly, but timing must be individualized. Report recent or planned fillers, neuromodulators, threads, surgery, peels, laser, radiofrequency and other energy treatments. Valley Medical may recommend separating procedures or postponing treatment.

Will I need maintenance treatments?

Maintenance may be offered under an approved clinic plan aft,er your response has been assessed. Durability varies, and natural aging continues. Your practitioner will recommend whether and when another treatment is appropriate.

Will photographs be taken?

Standardized photographs may be recommended to document the treatment area and response. Photographs are taken and stored according to Valley Medical policy with appropriate consent.
